One Week To Go

Dec 18, 2025

It's almost time! With one more week left before Christmas, there's still just enough time to craft one or two more gifts, right?

To help with this most hustling-est and bustling-est time of year, we created a special freebie, just for you - Printable gift tags to add that final, finishing touch to everything you make.

To download, simply click on the variation you'd like and print on an A4-sized sheet of cardstock.

  • Download the Green and White Mix
  • Download a full page of Green Handle With Care
  • Download a full page of Green To/From
  • Download a full page of Green Handknit Care Instructions
  • Download a full page of White Handle With Care
  • Download a full page of White To/From
  • Download a full page of White Handknit Care Instructions

For best results, use white or kraft cardstock paper, and use the "best" or "normal" quality settings on your printer. Do not use the "stretch to fit" option.

Then, cut out each tag carefully with sharp scissors, use a small hole punch or darning needle to make a hole at the top, and thread onto a length of yarn or baker's twine.

Have a friend who might like these? Send them this link, and they can download them, too!  courses.pipandpin.ca/gifttag2025

Why I'm Knitting a Sweater at the Wrong Gauge
A few weeks ago, I cast on a new sweater project, the Rosie Sweater by Le Knit. This one!    For this sweater, I'm using a gorgeous wool from Ancient Arts Fibres held with a strand of mohair from Knitting with Olive (my first time knitting a sweater with mohair, can you believe it?!).   And before I cast on, I swatched. I made two swatches, actually, one with the colourwork and one without, ...
How I Make Money as a Knitter
Making money as a small business is hard, and finding room to pay yourself is even harder. I spent many years as a knitter, working at craft markets and selling digital patterns online, and seemingly making a lot of money, only to see it go right back out the door.  So, what changed? Well, in short, I learned a system that allowed me to always make sure I was taking something home, and eventu...
A Provisional Cast On for the Perfect Fit
Did you know that you don't have to knit a sweater in the same order as the designer?  A few weeks ago, I started knitting the Paul Klee Sweater by Midori Hirose, but there was one thing I knew I wanted to change — the neckband.  It has a high neckline, almost mock turtleneck-like, and while it is gorgeous, I know it's not something I could wear without feeling like I'm being strangled.  So, ...
