Take accurate body measurements so your knits fit beautifully — every time.

Your Perfect Fit: Essential Body Measurements for Knitters includes a printable PDF and a short video you can watch online showing exactly how to take the measurements that matter before you cast on your next sweater.

Hi, I’m Megan Nodecker, co-founder of Pip & Pin.

Let me tell you about the first sweater I ever knit.

It was magical. The fabric draped beautifully, it was the ideal length, and everything just worked. It fit me perfectly when I made it, and I still wear it to this day, many years later.

But what I initially thought to be skill and artistry was really nothing more than pure dumb luck.

I didn’t swatch. I didn’t use the right size needles or the recommended yarn weight. I didn’t even look at the finished measurements. I just picked a size based on my bust, shrugged, and thought, “Looks great!”

And somehow, it all worked! …that one time.

Unfortunately, the sweaters that came after? Not so much.

Among other issues, the biggest hurdle I kept running into was that they all ended up too small. Even after I’d learned how to choose a size, how to measure gauge, and what yarn to use, something was still off.

Want to know what was happening?

Between that first sweater and the ones that followed, I had a baby, and my body changed! I was knitting things too small because it had never occurred to me to measure myself again!

Once I did, though—everything changed. With the right numbers as a starting point, my sweaters started to actually fit. Now, I take my measurements before every new cast on, just in case.

When was the last time you took your measurements? Or maybe, have you ever?

Either way, I’ve got you covered!
