How I Make Money as a Knitter
Making money as a small business is hard, and finding room to pay yourself is even harder.
I spent many years as a knitter, working at craft markets and selling digital patterns online, and seemingly making a lot of money, only to see it go right back out the door.
So, what changed?
Well, in short, I learned a system that allowed me to always make sure I was taking something home, and eventually turn knitting into my full-time gig!
If you're also a creative business owner, or would just like to take a peek behind the curtain to see what running Pip & Pin is like, I talk all about it in the latest episode of the Pip & Pin Podcast, How I Make Money and Get Paid as a Knitwear Designer, Instructor and Creative Business Owner.
Knitter's Guide to Passive Income
One thing I also talk about a little is having multiple streams of income. Pip & Pin started by selling handcrafted, physical goods, and over time moved into an online space. Since then, we've focused on creating a variety of ways to earn money - from selling digital patterns, to creating online classes, to filming and monetizing videos on YouTube, being affiliate partners, and we even had a blog years and years ago.
As a knitter, there are so many different avenues you can take in order to start a business, and I created an ebook outlining how to get started - The Entrepreneurial Knitter's Guide to Passive Income.
In this digital download, you'll find:
• A clear explanation of what passive income means in the knitting world
• Six potential income streams broken down in detail
• Pros and cons of each model
• Startup effort vs. long-term potential
• Reflection questions to help you assess what fits your current stage
• A look at how income streams can diversify and support one another
And right now, you can get it for 20% off with the code BUSINESS20.
